Temple basketball game vs. South Carolina now official

Coach Fran Dunphy’s Owls will play South Carolina in Madison Square Garden in November.

What has been known for quite some time has become official: The Temple men’s basketball team will face Final Four participant South Carolina on Nov. 30 at Madison Square Garden.

The game will be part of a doubleheader in the Under Armour Reunion. Tip-off time and television carrier are to be announced next week. Texas Tech and Seton Hall will play in the other game.

Temple’s American Athletic Conference schedule is expected to be released soon. The Owls will open their season at the Charleston Classic, against Old Dominion on Nov. 16.

South Carolina becomes the fourth opponent on Temple’s schedule that has been to the Final Four in the last five years. The others are Wichita State, an AAC newcomer that the Owls face twice, along with Wisconsin and Villanova.
