Anthony 'Tiger' Jones leaves Soul to join Jacksonville Sharks

The Soul lost another major component to the franchise Monday when wide receiver Anthony "Tiger" Jones was assigned to the Jacksonville Sharks on a one-year deal.

Jones' departure marks the third former All-Arena player to sign elsewhere during the offseason.

The Soul have already lost All-Arena defensive back Rayshaun Kizer and All-Arena center Brennen Carvalho to the three-time defending ArenaBowl champion Arizona Rattlers. Losing Jones is yet another blow to the Soul's core that took the team to the postseason in each of the last three seasons, including consecutive trips to the ArenaBowl in 2012 and 2013.

In three seasons with the Soul, Jones caught 397 passes for 5,777 yards for 117 touchdowns. During his first season with the Soul in 2012, he became the first player in Arena Football League history to record multiple 2,000-yard receiving seasons. He reached the 2,000-yard plateau for a third time in 2013. He was named to the All-Arena all three seasons.
