The Soul wrapped up the physical portion of its Arena-Bowl preparation with an outdoor practice yesterday at sweltering Eastern High in Voorhees, N.J.
The team will leave for New Orleans today and practice lightly in the days leading up to Sunday's championship game against San Jose.
"The key for us was to prepare here and clean things up so that we're running smooth when we get to New Orleans," Soul coach Bret Munsey said. "We don't want to have to go through a lot of preparation there."
Starting defensive back Brian Mance, who has been out with a broken ankle sustained in Week 9, practiced sporadically and mostly with the second-team defense. Munsey said Mance's chances of playing Sunday are "very slim." *
