The Soul hope to take the next step to an ArenaBowl berth when the New York Dragons visit the Wachovia Center tonight in a conference semifinal game.
Quarterback Matt D'Orazio will start his first postseason game as a member of the Soul. D'Orazio, signed in the offseason as a backup to Tony Graziani, led Chicago to the ArenaBowl title 2 years ago and the conference title game last year.
Graziani, a free agent this summer, missed the final two games with a concussion and will back up D'Orazio.
The Soul posted an AFL-best 13-3 regular-season mark and with a win will host the National Conference championship game next Saturday. Cleveland visits Georgia on Monday in the other conference semifinal.
Philadelphia defeated New York twice this season by a combined 122-72, and is a 9-point favorite. *
