The U.S. women's soccer team finished its year with a 3-1 win over Canada at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, Calif.

Julie Ertz opened the scoring, heading home a corner kick from Megan Rapinoe in the 11th minute. It was Ertz's seventh goal of 2017. She scored it barely a mile from her alma mater, Santa Clara, where back in the day she met Zach Ertz when the Eagles tight end was at Stanford.

Canada tied the score in the 50th, as Janine Beckie capped off a counter-attack that carved up the American defense.

Just six minutes later, Alex Morgan put the home team back in front with a smart finish of a through ball from Christen Press. It was Morgan's seventh goal in her last seven national team games.

Delran native Carli Lloyd sealed the win in the 80th minute with help from Morgan and Megan Rapinoe, who was the Americans' best attacking player throughout the night. Lloyd now has 98 national team goals in her career.
