After being idle since a 3-0 win over New England in their Major League Soccer home opener on March 20, the Union appear to be in good health for their game Saturday game in Chicago agains the Fire.

Union coach Jim Curtin said at his news conference Wednesday that injured midfielders Tranquillo Barnetta and Vincent Nogueira should both be available against Chicago (0-1-2).

Barnetta has not played for the Union (2-1) this season because of knee tendinitis. Nogueira, who played 90 minutes in the opening 2-0 loss at FC Dallas, has missed the last two games with an ankle injury.

"Vincent went through training fine," Curtin said. "I think he has a little discomfort and will be having an MRI for peace of mind more than anything else."

Curtin said Barnetta is back after missing some training.

"He had a tweak to his knee before the weekend and missed a session or two," Curtin said. "He is back training fully and will be available for selection this week."

Curtin also reiterated that goalkeeper Andre Blake, fresh off playing for Jamaica in two World Cup qualifiers, is expected to start Saturday.

Jamaica tied visiting Costa Rica, 1-1, on Friday and then lost at Costa Rica, 3-0, on Tuesday. Blake appeared in both games and is expected to be back at Union practice Thursday.

"He will be ready to go," Curtin said. "He is young enough that it is fine for him to turn around from Tuesday and play on the weekend."

Blake has been nominated for MLS player of the month after making 16 saves, recording one shutout and allowing three goals in the Union's three games.
