Last game: Both teams played this week in the U.S. Open Cup. On Tuesday, the Union beat the Rochester Rhinos on penalty kicks, 3-1, after the teams played to a scoreless draw through regulation and two overtimes. The Galaxy beat visiting PSA Elite, 6-1, on Wednesday.

Outlook: The Galaxy (5-5-7) are the defending MLS champions and have a minus-3 goal differential. L.A.'s dangerous Robbie Keane, who missed seven weeks of the season with a groin injury, has played seven games but hasn't scored in MLS action since March 21. He did have three goals in Wednesday's Open Cup win. Alan Gordon has a team-high four goals for the Galaxy. . . . The Galaxy will be without forward Bradford Jamieson (concussion) and keeper Brian Perk (broken leg). . . . This is the first MLS game for the Union (4-9-3) since a 2-1 loss to visiting New York City FC on June 6. Sebastien Le Toux, who was injured in Tuesday's win over the Rochester Rhinos, has a Grade 2 MCL sprain and is expected to be out two to four weeks, according to Union coach Jim Curtin. In addition, Curtin said that forward Fernando Aristeguieta (ankle) will miss the game against the Galaxy. Michael Lahoud (hip) and Conor Casey (quadriceps) are also out. . . . Brian Sylvestre will start his seventh consecutive MLS game in goal for the Union. - Marc Narducci
