Tottenham Hotspur at Seattle Sounders

4 p.m. Saturday (ESPN2, ESPN Deportes)

The summer friendly season kicks off and first up is a reunion game for Clint Dempsey and his former English Premier League team. The U.S. national team star, who moved from Spurs to Seattle last summer, will see some very familiar faces, as Tottenham's squad features three members of the Belgian team that knocked Dempsey and the United States out of the World Cup: defender Jan Vertonghen and midfielders Mousa Dembélé and Nacer Chadli.

L.A. Galaxy at Sporting Kansas City

6 p.m. Saturday (ESPN2, ESPN Deportes)

It's the only meeting scheduled between the last two Major League Soccer champions. Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane lead L.A. against Kansas City's U.S. World Cup star tandem of Graham Zusi and Matt Besler. This game will also feature the unveiling of the official match roster for next month's MLS All-Star Game in Portland, Ore.

Boston Breakers at Portland Thorns

5 p.m. Sunday (ESPN2)

The countdown to next summer's Women's World Cup in Canada begins, and so does the National Women's Soccer League national TV slate. This game features a pair of U.S. national team stars, Portland forward Alex Morgan and Boston midfielder Heather O'Reilly.

Tottenham Hotspur at Toronto FC

7 p.m. Wednesday (ESPN2, ESPN Deportes)

Spurs' next stop on the North American tour features another reunion, this time with Toronto striker Jermain Defoe, a former teammate. The veteran English star has been a stellar signing for Toronto, with 10 goals and 2 assists this season.

Liverpool vs. AS Roma

7:30 p.m. Wednesday (NBC-SN)

The Reds' first game after selling controversial star striker Luis Suárez will take place against Roma at Fenway Park - an unusual soccer venue, but no surprise: Liverpool owner John Henry also owns the Red Sox, while Giallorossi owner James Pallotta is a Boston native. (Roma will take on Italian league rival Inter Milan at Lincoln Financial Field on Aug. 2.)

Manchester City at Sporting Kansas City

9 p.m. Wednesday (ESPN2, ESPN Deportes)

This is a friendly matchup of the reigning MLS and Premier League champions. Manchester City is led by midfielder Yaya Touré and striker Sergio Agüero. Sporting could give time to 17-year-old defender Erik Palmer-Brown, a signing target of Italian league giant Juventus.

Manchester United vs. L.A. Galaxy

11 p.m. Wednesday (Fox Sports 1)

New United manager Louis van Gaal's first game in charge of the Red Devils comes at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. He'll have most of the team's stars at his disposal, including summer signings Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw - but not Dutch striker Robin van Persie, given a rest after the World Cup.
