Sources have confirmed to the Daily News a FOXSoccer.com report that the Philadelphia Union are prepared to announce the signing of former MLS player Freddy Adu.

Adu, 22, who formerly played with Aris FC, of Greece, was in town last night with the U.S. National team that hosted Mexico at Lincoln Financial Field.

Adu, when asked by a Daily News reporter for commment last night, said, "I can't say anything, man, I'm sworn to secrecy."

Union coach Peter Novak, who coached Adu with D.C. United, said today in his weekly news conference, "We are trying to improve, and to do that, at this point, it is most important for us to shuffle our front line. The rest we can figure out but now we need to figure out how to score more goals."

Union officials plan to hold a noon news conference on Friday to announce the signing, but would not confirm.
