Union manager Nowak gets new title

The Union has named Peter Nowak to newly created position of executive vice president of soccer operations and team manager.

Nowak's title change represents an expansion of his duties as they relate to all soccer operations within the organization, the team said.

"Peter's new title better reflects his broader responsibilities overseeing our entire soccer operation," Union CEO Nick Sakiewicz said. "From Day 1, Peter has proven to be a talented strategist and his passion and knowledge of the sport suit him perfectly for this role.""

Nowak will continue to oversee all personnel and activities involving the first team and youth academy.

He and Sakiewicz are expected to discuss the promotion during a press conference this afternoon.
