Why is Stefansky still here. His signing of Brand and Igggy will go down with the Matt Geiger signing and the Moses Malone trade. He set this franchise back 5 years.

langx, you're kidding right? Although I didn't agree with giving iggy all that money he is the type of player you need on a championship team. Stefansky is not the problem...and he's only been here for a year for crying out loud.

Big celtic rumor with Detroit Rondo and Allen to the Detroit Pistons for a package that included Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince and Rodney Stuckey,

langx- Matt Geiger is the ONLY reason the 76ers went to the championship in 01- if he didnt deny the deal Iverson would have been in Detroit. Another rumor is Brand to Dallas. Detroit already turned down the celts deal.

stjaunn: He is the problem. They spent 164 million on two bums. Who looks to rebuild a team after spending 164 million. I know. The NJ nets. They signed a bunch of players to contracts they never should have and are attempting to trade the last piece Vince Carter. They gave Richard Jefferson to much money and traded him. the next year. They gave Kidd to much money and traded him the next year. They give vince carter money and are attempting to trade him. THis is where Stefasnky learned his craft to destroy a team. Are you serious. They could have got the same results if they never spent any money last summer. Why give Iggy any money after he was shut down by Prince. It was stupid. They paid Iggy as a top player when he is a c level player.

phila1: Why were they trying to trade him then. Because it was a bad signing. Maybe if they never signed him and had the money they could have added another player that would have won them a championship. You have to be joking right. Are you really that stupid.

Does anyone even watch the NBA? Last time I checked, the NHL sells out all their playoff games

mikemike: If stefansky never signed the two iggy and brand that's where they would be with 35 million in cap space. Which goes to my point. Stefansky should have never signed those two. I would rather have young and speights with 35 million than Iggy and Brand and no cap space.

people are saying the sixers gave iggy and brand too much money. but let me ask this. is a 37 year old shaq worth 21 million a year? thats whats he's getting from phoenix. stephon marbury. also 21 million per season, and he's coming off the bench. so,we as fans cant get too caught up in contracts because there are alot of players in the league with worst contracts than brand or iggy by far.

jpapp21: Another great signing by the sage Stefansky. Two teams in two years after they signed Jefferson in NJ. Just like Iggy, Jefferson is a guard with out a scorers mentality or the natural basketball skills to get his own shot. Yet Stefansky broke the bank for him. Maybe there is hope they can trade Iggy for a bunch of junk.

CHILLYFROMPHILLY: Are you serious. Shaq won a chip in Miami. And then being the smart GM Riley is he got rid of him. I thought this city knew about basketball. You just spent 164 million and could have got the same result for nothing. The Sixers could have 35 million under the cap right now. Again I ask. Are you serious.

You cant kill Stefanski for the Brand deal, the sixers were exposed in the playoffs because they had no low post game so they went out and got the best available. Everyone now wishes they got smith from Atlanta but the fact is that running teams do not win championships (unless you ave Magic Worthy and Kareem) but rather teams that can grind it out while being able to run. The problem was that they thought AI would be an improved shooter which was dead wrong. And for FLYERSFAN561, the only reason why the NHL sells out in Philadelphia is bacause of its loyal fan base. Ask Pittsburgh (stanley cup champions) San Jose, Anaheim and several other playoff teams to see how they COULDN'T sell out games.
