WNBA: MVP Moore nets 34 as Lynx open with win

WNBA Finals MVP Maya Moore was in top form in her first regular-season game since leading the Minnesota Lynx to their second title in three seasons.

Moore had 34 points and nine rebounds and the visiting Lynx opened with an 89-77 victory over the Washington Mystics on Friday night.

Sky 74, Fever 71 - Elena Delle Donne had 23 points, Jessica Breland added 13 and host Chicago beat Indiana.

Natasha Howard had 16 points and Shavonte Zellous added 14 for the Fever, who led by 18 points in the first quarter.

Dream 79, Stars 75 - Erika de Souza had 23 points and 11 rebounds, and rookie guard Shoni Schimmel scored all seven of her points in the fourth quarter in host Atlanta's victory over San Antonio.

Two-time WNBA scoring leader Angel McCoughtry added 21 points for Atlanta, hitting two free throws with 2.4 seconds left put the game out of reach after the defending Eastern Conference champions rallied from a late four-point deficit.

Liberty 75, Sun 54 - Cappie Pondexter scored 17 points and Tina Charles added nine points and nine rebounds in her return to Connecticut to help New York rout the Sun.
