Sixers' trade for No. 1 pick could be draft-night deal

The Celtics don't want the Lakers to screw up deal.

Word out of Boston is that the 76ers and the Celtics may agree to trade draft picks, but it wouldn't be finalized until Thursday's NBA draft.

That's because the Los Angeles Lakers could mess up the draft by selecting Josh Jackson with the second overall pick. The Celtics, according to a source, won't make the trade unless they are able to get Jackson.

The Sixers, who pick third, are in deep talks with the Celtics, who have the first pick. The Sixers would surrender their pick, the Lakers' 2018 first-round pick and possibly another future first-rounder in exchange for the Celtics' pick.

Fultz is scheduled to meet with the Sixers this evening.

More to come.
