The Sixers, who finished 28-54 last season,  have a lot of buzz surrounding them. They are expected to battle for an Eastern Conference playoff berth this season.

Center Joel Embiid will be an all-star candidate. The team drafted Markelle Fultz with the first overall pick in the draft in June. The Sixers also signed free agents J.J. Redick and Amir Johnson. Ben Simmons, the first overall pick in 2016, is also expected to make his debut.  He missed the entire 2016-17 season after surgery to repair a broken right foot.

The Sixers are expected to embark on a West Coast road trip after their  Dec. 25 matchup against the Knicks.
