Trouble maker: Joel Embiid's ability to draw fouls is going to make things tough for opposing teams. His rip-through action when he is isolated is something that other bigs will have to look out for, or they will be the reason Embiid goes to the line and they find themselves in foul trouble. He had a cold shooting night, going 1-of-7 from the field but he still energized the team and made his presence known.

Sharp shooter: Shooting has improved for many of the Sixers but the team hasn't had someone as reliable as J.J. Redick in years. He's a threat that will not only regularly knock down shots but also demands defensive attention that creates more space for his teammates. He hit five threes in the preseason finale.

Reliable backup: With the two-guard position the most competitive in terms of minutes, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot used the last two preseason games to make his case. He is a reliable defender who has improved offensively and can get to he line. He finished with 17 points against the Heat in just over 20 minutes.

Unshakeable: It wasn't doubted but now it's clear — Ben Simmons will not lose his confidence if he doesn't have good shooting performances. He bounced back from anything negative in previous games and stood out shooting 9-of-11 and finishing with 19 points.

Difficult comeback: Emeka Okafor hasn't had many reps and the time he has spent on the floor has been in garbage time with the players most likely to see G-League action. After a 4-year hiatus from the NBA his return will be difficult with his visibility limited in the preseason.
