ORLANDO  -- Sam Hinkie likes what he sees in Khalif Wyatt.

The 76ers general manager made that clear while talking about the member of the Sixers’ Orlando Pro Summer League team.

“He can really pass,” Hinkie said of Wyatt, an undrafted combo guard out of Temple. “We’re encouraging him to find other guys some and create plays for other guys.  On a team  on this level [summer league], there are so few guys that can create their own shot.  If you are gifted, we are encouraging you to do it for yourself and others.

“Khalif’s one of those guys. I think he’s done a good job so far. We’ve been pleased to have him here.”

Through three games, Wyatt leads the Sixers with eight steals. He is also second on the team in scoring (12.7 points per game) and assists (nine).

Have the Sixers seen enough to sign him to a roster spot?

“I think it is early, right now,” Hinkie said. “But he’s done fine. He’s been an important part of our team, thus far. And we’ve been pleased.

“We’ve not been pleased because he is a local guy. We’ve been pleased because he is doing his best, and done what he needs to do. He has a lot he needs to work on like all the other players do.”
