Comcast SportsNet has hired Fox Sports' Jaime Maggio as sideline reporter for all home Sixers games, starting with Wednesday's opener at the Wachovia Center.

Maggio, based in California, will join Marc Zumoff and color analyst Ed Pinckney, and she replaces Dei Lynam, who will do analysis on the pregame and postgame shows and contribute to CSNPhilly.com.

Maggio has quite a juggling act ahead of her. She worked as a sideline reporter for Fox at Sunday's Saints-Dolphins game and will continue in that role.

Comcast SportsNet is starting to look like Fox News with all of the blondes. Not that I'm complaining. Jaime Maggio looks just like Amy Fudol. I think Dei got the shaft. She's been there forever. Not very nice!

I think Dei has an age discrimination case here.

I'll take a smart woman who knows her sports over a traditionally-prettier woman who can't read the prompter any day. Dei Lynam knows Philly basketball better than any other woman they could bring in.

Dei is awesome she is the only female sports reporter i respect. But she will be doing pre and post game so its not like she got fired. This lady got some serious sneakers to fill.

Dei is kinda like Two-Face from that Seinfeld episode. One day she's really attractive and looking great; the next, she looks like she got pummeled with an oil filter...

Dei is a highly respected sports reporter, no question about it. But she looks like a mother of 7 children who just got done cleaning the house. Her hair has a months worth of roots showing and looks like she forgot to comb it.

Why are you assuming that Lynam is being mistreated here? A studio analyst position is considered more prestigious than a sideline reporter position. Looks like Lynam is moving up. Sideline reporter is the bottom rung of the totem pole.

Lynam was terrific in her old role. Hope she gets plenty of work in her new one. I won't prejudge Maggio just because she is pretty, but she has a tough act to follow.
