You never know for sure until the trade deadline passes, but asked about the Sixers' situation as the deadline approached tomorrow at 3 p.m., president and general manager Ed Stefanski told the Daily News: ''Nothing's hot. Nothing's hot right now.''

Stefanski maintained his stance of trying to acquire helpful players rather than expiring contracts. As of this afternoon, he had not been able to do that. He vowed to keep trying, although it seemed as if he might have to settle for something less than a major acquisition, perhaps adding an additional support player.

''We're going to pretty much stand pat, from what I understand [from Stefanski],"  coach Eddie Jordan said after practice. He also distanced himself from the waves of speculation, saying ''I said from the beginning, I'm coaching the team that's in the locker room.''

Jordan said he had not been aware of the occasional “Fire Eddie” chants from the stands during Tuesday's blowout loss to Miami. His players were.

“I heard that, too,” Elton Brand said. “You’ve got to tune it out. He wasn’t out there playing defense.”

Of the booing, Andre Iguodala said, “That’s just the nature of our fans. When we’re not playing too well, they’re not happy. When you’re winning games, they’re happy.”

GetReal!!! means for Comcast to FIRE EDDIE (Jordan), FIRE EDDIE (Stefanski) and FIRE EDDIE (Snyder). Only that trifecta will change things!

They should be blowing this team up. I'm appalled that they didn't accept that trade in Kate Fagan's article. Stefanski is gun shy, Jordan is a dope, the whole team is a mess and they'll compound their problems when they get the 8th pick instead of tanking for Wall, Turner, Favors, or Cousins.

If this "standing pat" nonsense doesn't get Stefanski sacked, nothing will. Is he even watching these games? Watching the Heat beat the team he runs by almost 30 POINTS!!!!!! What an embarrasment! Time to push the blow up button and instead we're sticking with what we got!

is igoudala serious? when we're playin well? you mean when another team chalks up a W, you actually try and get a W? which is what, all of once every four games? your a joke, lebron jr. you wish you were him, but guess what? he is more athletic than you AND has a better jumper than you (which he worked to earn)

Why would you want to blow up the team? Who wouldn't want a lottery team with two guys who have $80 million contracts?

Worst organization in the NBA except for the Wizards. They might as well just move this team back to Syracuse. I'm beside myself with disgust. I'm ready to rip up my season tickets. What did I buy them for anyway? My son is the biggest NBA fan in the Delaware Valley, and he would rather play rec league ball on Friday than go to the Spurs game.
