New 76ers coach Brett Brown wants his squad to play with a lot of energy this season.

Nothing he’s seen through two days of training indicates that they’ll play otherwise.

“They’ve all shown a tremendous amount of energy,” Brown said following Sunday morning's practice at St. Joseph’s. “The thing that sticks out the most is they are all young and hungry and athletic.”

For now, the starting lineup is point guard Michael Carter-Williams, guard Evan Turner, swingman James Anderson, power forward Thaddeus Young and center Spencer Hawes.

Forum: When will the 76ers be a contender?

“They understand the pecking order is always going to be determined on who competes,” Brown said.  “And it’s going to make it hard for me, because as we speak, I have of bunch of them who really are competing."
