The Sixers will have a new addition to their jerseys starting next season, and no, that addition is not (yet) an advertisement.

According to ESPN, all NBA teams that have won a championship will don a small gold tag on the back of their jersey collars as a form of commemoration.

The concept is similar to that used in international soccer to denote World Cup victories, except that the NBA will use only a single tab for each qualifying team, rather than separate tabs for each title.

The Sixers have won two titles (1966-67 & 1982-83) since their move to Philadelphia, and will thus be one of the teams going gold.
