Meeks looking forward to facing Sixers

WASHINGTON -- After playing parts of the past three seasons with the 76ers, Jodie Meeks makes his first return to Philadelphia tonight with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Meeks, who is averaging 7.9 points, but coming off a 24-point effort in Friday's 102-96 win in Washington, says he has nothing but good memories of his time in Philadelphia.

"It should be fun," Meeks said earlier this week.

Meeks, who shot 9 of 14 from the field and 4 of 7 from behind the arc in Friday's win over the Wizards, added labeled the Sixers "a class organization" and lauded both coaches and management.

"Doug Collins, Michael Curry, Aaron McKie, Rod Thorn, the owner Josh (Harris), was very good to me," he said. "I have nothing but good things to say about them."

That doesn't mean he can't wait to try to extend the Lakers win streak to two games, after ending a four-game skid with Friday's win.

"At the same time, I don't play for the 76ers anymore," Meeks said. "I want to play well and to help beat them."
