twpman,Faried is not a tweener, cause he'd never be a 3....He is a short version of a power forward...He's got a long wing span and plays way bigger than my man Mo ever would....He has the heart of a Lion and will make our bench really hard to play against!

For the record on Faried's size, he is not tall, but he has very long arms which give him a 9' 0" standing reach. That's 'taller' than Justin Harper and Markieff Morris and only 1/2" less than Tristan Thompson.

that's right incog, and add his speed and verticality with that motor...and you've got something the sixers need,,,board crashing, shot altering hustle.

@bearsfriend & incog69: needs to put on some weight, to be an effective post defender, and box out the opposing bigs.

Drafting a player for the bench. hmmm.. How about a starter? Wasn't Evan on the bench this year and everyone wondered why the 2nd player taken in the draft couldn't start? 16th pick in the first round needs to find the court asap as a starter.

Do the Iguodala-for-Monta Ellis deal right now. Puts a 25-year-old budding superstar in the backcourt with Jrue. -- Nollis Marie Milo

I hear you phillyinNJ but evan's benching wasn't of his own fault. To me, there isn't one player in this draft that impresses me so much that i would start him on any team that went to the playoffs this season.

Dallas has a bench that wins games and has won the chip. At #16, there is nothing wrong with getting a player that can come off the bench and deliver whether it's defensively or offsensively. Just look at lou williams and thad young, two guys that come off the bench and do a decent job of helping us win. i rather have guys like that than take someone with the 2nd overall pick like say hmm Darko, start him and he's a complete bust!

The point of getting Faried is a good one....but there is a better version of Faried in the same draft: Biyombo. Faried has a 9'0" reach. Biyombo 9'3" reach Biyombo has a 7'6" wingspan---longer than Yao Ming, Shaq, and all but 5 or 6 in the history of the NBA. But most importantly he is atleast as fierce, strong, fast, and tenacious as Faried

Marc, this has to be the most white guys projected in the first round since 1972, according to your mock draft.

One more thing, I dont see an impact player at 16. Why not "get on the phones" and see if we can move up in the draft. If you cant snag a 1st move up on 2nd and take a flyer on a late round SG who can shoot and create his own shot. Utah likes defensive SF like Iggie and have 2 picks early, even getting their second pick is major if you want a 6 9 twin on your team. Even taping that 10-12 pick will get u a better big...

Phillyinnj, are you awake? The 16 th pick will not give you a starter, face the fact..Faried is what fits .

If the best player available is NOT a center, the 76ers will remain stagnant. They need a big man who can play.

Fareed is a Rodman clone but possibly an inch shorter.

BlueBellion, I agree with you 100%.....the Sixers, with their current makeup, need to run to be most effective...If they can't get into transition with steals ..then rebounding w/outlet passes is what they need..Faried is proven as a rebounder, runs like Thaddeus Young, and WANTS to be that Rodman type guy...
