If the Sixers draft a 6'7" PF, I will literally scream! MrMiles1
Faried's nice, but 6'6 just ain't gonna cut it. And Marc's silly for thinking this team would pass up on Biyombo. BlackFeet01
Is Faried the best rebounder or is Biyombo? I say the latter who happens to be 2" taller. If the 6ers had a younger power forward or a more athletic center, then I may agree. 6ers need to roll the dice here & select a taller front court player. By drafting at 16, the 6ers are really playing with house money. XBakerflight
Mocking this mock draft, a waste of 5 minutes of my life :-) allrightknight
Marc, you are right on point!!!...How tall was Barkley? 6'4" three quarters, and he was a machine..How tall was Rodman? 6'8" and he was a beast....Kenneth Faried runs like a gazelle,is the fastest guy in the draft, and has a relentless desire to go after very rebound. His energy on the defensive end will frustrate opponents, and although he has no offensive game to date...he will score opportunity buckets on follow up dunks...He will make a good bench a great one, and will set a great pick...the kid is North Jersey tough, no dear in the head lights...let's hope he's there..good job Marc. bearsfriend
If Faried WAS two inches taller, he'd be gone by the 8th pick....that's why there's value..he plays BIG and has heart. And I am not his agent! bearsfriend
Let Faried loose off the bench with Thad,,,they both run with their hair on fire!! They would run teams off the floor! bearsfriend
Comment removed.- @ bearsfriend..If i had to go small, Faried and klay thompson would be the guys i'd go after. They have the ability to make any bench fearsome. However, folks share Mr.Miles' sentiment. They will be unimpressed if we go after anyone that's not 6"10 or taller. I agree that Faried is a monster but then again i would like to know how he'd do against better competition Morehead isn't D1.
I wish we could get a proven free agent or trade for a decent big.I'm not impressed with any bigs in this draft but who knows, someone or two may pan out to be ok. If bismack is there and the sixers select him, then i hope no one expects him to score. He appears to be a Defensive specialist(blocks/rebounds.) wait don't we have a smaller Defensive specialist and people complain about him?
I would be very disappointed if Biyombo is still on the board and the Sixers go with Faried. I's like to see the Sixers draft someone who can play some minutes at center, but I wouldn't mind a legit SG either. BeFrank- Glad you have the gall to say that. Some on this board seem to think that we should live in the past, and not draft a SG because of all the SG's we have, when Williams and Meeks are our only 2's. Turner's not a shooter, don't see how it'd work putting him there unless the SF can shoot.
- Very true, @BlackFeet01 - Your 2 guard or SF has to be a consistent outside shooter or every D will pack it in on you. Unless Meeks takes that next step, we will need at least one starter who can consistently hit an outside shot to compete with the best.
The thing is we can't have our cake and eat it too...They'll give Herman Monster another year at center cause they aren't going to be able to get an upgrade at 16...and Iguodala won't get them a McGee or Deandre Jordan type...in Faried they would get a piece that would help this core of guys....most of the truer sized 4's are really just average at best, and I believe they are reaches, backups that would have minimal impact for a while. bearsfriend
If they go big for the sake of going big, they'll take Nikola Vucevic from USC...a stretch, literally bearsfriend
Morehead State is Division I for the record, albeit a mid-major. Check out these stats against 3 top-20 opponents this past season:
Vs Florida 20 Pts, 18 Reb, 2 Ast, 2 Stl, 2 Blk
Vs Ohio State 15 Pts, 12 Reb, 5 Stl, 2 Blk
Vs Louisville 12 Pts, 17 Reb, 2 Stl, 1 Blk
seems Faried did pretty well against stronger competition. daqueen123
