Jackson suffers Achilles injury

ORLANDO -- 76ers reserve point guard Pierre Jackson suffered a right Achilles injury in the second quarter of Saturday's Orlando Summer League game against the Magic.

The initial diagnosis is ruptured.  The Sixers will continue to evaluate him.

"Thank you to everyone reaching out," Jackson tweeted later. "It's highly appreciated … Pray for me."

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound suffered the injury while attempting to make a move for the ball near the three-point line. He reached down to grab his Achilles, took a couple of steps and before resting at midcourt.

Jackson was having a solid performance before the injury, scoring seven points on 3-for-5 shooting. He also had a steal in 6 minutes, 55 seconds of action.

The Sixers acquired Jackson in a draft night trade with the New Orleans Pelicans for second-round pick Russ Smith.

Jackson was prolific scorer this past season in the NBA Development League, averaging 29.1 points. He was a two-time all-Big 12 selection at Baylor.
