Allen Iverson is officially bound for Turkey.
A media advisory Thursday night said the former 76ers star has agreed in principle to a two-year $4 million contract with Besiktas, a professional team in Turkey.
He is expected to sign his contract this weekend and begin his overseas career the week of Nov. 8.
Iverson is expected to be at a press conference Friday at 2 p.m. at the St. Regis Hotel in New York, where he is expected to be joined by Besiktas owner Yildirim Demiroren and Seref Yalcin, an executive board member of the club.
Iverson, a four-time scoring champion in the NBA, spent the first 10 seasons-plus of his career with the Sixers, then logged time with Denver, Detroit and Memphis before appearing in 25 games with the Sixers last season.
