Hawes out tonight vs. Heat

Doug Collins said that Spencer Hawes won’t play tonight against the Miami Heat. Collins stated that Hawes will play instead tomorrow in Chicago.

Hawes is still coming back from a strained left Achilles tendon. He returned to action during Wednesday’s loss to Indiana after missing the previous 17 games with the injury.

“What we will do is play him tomorrow so he can play every other night and felt it could be a better rhythm for him, Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday,” Collins said before tonight’s game with the Heat at the Wells Fargo Center. “We were trying to figure out how we could best monitor the situation and from his standpoint this might help him get another day’s work in and he can get in a better rhythm.”
