A week after being selected third overall by the Sixers in the 2014 NBA Draft, Joel Embiid has settled on a uniform number.

In a conference call with media members earlier in the week Embiid said that he wanted to wear No. 55 with the Sixers, but since fellow new-acquisition Pierre Jackson wears the number in honor of his grandmother, he would select another number.

Embiid has apparently decided upon No. 11 with his new franchise, sending out his selection in a Tweet Thursday evening.

“I’m getting #11. EMB11D #Togetherwebuild,” he Tweeted.

I'm getting #11 EMB11D #Togetherwebuild

— Joel-Hans Embiid (@JoelEmbiid) July 3, 2014

As you may recall, No. 11 was worn by Jrue Holiday throughout his four-year stint with the Sixers.

With a number selected, the next step for Embiid is to get healthy to enough to wear his jersey in some on-court action.
