Collins broke ribs in fall

76ers coach Doug Collins returned to practice today. After practice, he discussed the last few days, which saw him visiting a neurologist due to symptoms from a concussion he suffered over Memorial Day.

Collins explained that he fell in a coffee shop in Phoenix over the holiday weekend. He hit his head and broke three ribs. There happened to be a doctor at the coffee shop who immediately attended to Collins. He said he hit a table and chair going down and then cracked his head on the concrete.

Collins said he has fainted before, but he's had situations where he's gotten lightheaded and that usually happens when his blood pressure gets low -- and that's what happened in this situation over Memorial Day.

The neurologist diagnosed him with vertigo. Collins said all the tests were great and the treatment will be getting the equilibrium back.

He does not anticipate missing any more coaching time.
