Collins out tonight, to return Friday

Doug Collins, fighting the effects of headaches and dizziness, will not coach the 76ers in their final preseason game tonight against the New York Knicks, but anticipates returning to practice Friday.

Collins did not coach in the Sixers' 111-95 preseason loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers Tuesday night in Cincinnati. He underwent a series of neurological tests at Lankenau Hospital.

Associate head coach Michael Curry, who ran the team Tuesday night, is expected to fill that role again tonight in the Wells Fargo Center.

The team is scheduled for a day off tomorrow.
