According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Sixers’ reigning Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams was honored with an invite to Team USA Camp in Las Vegas later this month as a member of the select squad.

The USA Select Team practices with the National Team, and participates in drills and scrimmages with them throughout the three-day camp.

It is a nice honor to be asked, as the Select Team is typically comprised of some of the league’s best up-and-coming young players. Carter-Williams however, will be unable to participate as he continues to recover from his recent shoulder surgery.

On the heels of a successful rookie season, practicing with basketball’s best would have been excellent experience for Carter-Williams, but getting his body back to full strength before season’s start is his top priority.
