Lavoy Allen will miss his fourth consecutive game when the 76ers take on the Miami Heat Friday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

Allen, who had been sidelined with a strained right calf, said he felt pain in his left knee while sprinting before Wednesday’s game against the Charlotte Bobcats.  The 6-foot-9, 255-pounder’s knee pain comes from a previous injury that sidelined him in the preseason.

He said the “plan” is to return Saturday night at the Chicago Bulls.

“I feel a little bit better,” Allen said after Friday morning’s shootaround at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. “Hopefully tomorrow I will be ready to go. The calf is fine.”

Allen participated in the shootaround and worked out on the treadmill and exercise bike afterward.

“Again, trying to run sprints that’s when it starts to bother me,” he said. “But anything in the half-court it’s fine.

Allen is the Sixers best reserve post player, averaging 5.1 points and 5.4 rebounds and 18.5 minutes.
