Agent: Former Duke player Dawkins to work out for Sixers

Former Duke guard Andre Dawkins will work out for the Sixers on June 11 or 13, his agent, John Spencer, confirmed Tuesday night.

The Sixers have seven draft picks in this year’s NBA draft, June 26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn: Nos. 3 and 10 in the first round and Nos. 32, 39, 47, 52 and 54 in the second round

Dawkins is projected as a late second-round selection or an undrafted free agent.

Dawkins, a 6-5, 215-pounder from Chesapeake, Va., averaged 7.9 points and 1.3 rebounds last season. He shot 42.1 percent from three-point range his senior season, 43.5 percent in Atlantic Coast Conference play, tops in the conference.

His draft stock recently rose after a strong showing at the Portsmouth Invitational and the Los Angeles Clippers’ second-round workouts in the last 2 months.
