The 76ers released their preseason schedule for the upcoming season and it will begin at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday, Oct. 4 when they host the Memphis Grizzlies.

Two nights later on Oct. 6, the team will host the Boston Celtics before traveling to play in Boston on Monday, Oct. 9. The Sixers will play the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum before closing out the preseason on Oct. 13 against the Miami Heat at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.

"It's really exciting to play a preseason game in Kansas City, which is not far from where I played college basketball for the Jayhawks," said University of Kansas product Joel Embiid. "I know that area has some great basketball fans and it will be fun to be back playing for the Sixers."

Top overall pick Markelle Fultz, who suffered a sprained ankle in the Las Vegas Summer League, should be ready for the beginning of the preseason, as should Embiid, who is coming off minor knee surgery last March.

The regular-season schedule for all teams should be out within the next couple of weeks. Here is the preseason schedule:

Wednesday, Oct. 4: vs. Memphis Grizzlies at Wells Fargo Center, 7 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 6: vs. Boston Celtics at Wells Fargo Center, 7 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 9: at Boston Celtics (TD Garden), 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 11: vs. Brooklyn Nets at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, 7:30 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 13: vs. Miami Heat at Sprint Center, Kansas City, 8:30 p.m.
