Sixers' Wroten out for at least a week with knee injury

Tony Wroten has been leading the Sixers in several categories, but will miss time after getting hurt on Wednesday.

THE 0-15 SIXERS suffered another loss this week, one that won't show up in the team's record.

They will be without leading scorer Tony Wroten (17.9 points per game) for at least a week after he sprained his right knee during Wednesday's home loss to the Brooklyn Nets, even though he finished the contest.

The team will re-evaluate the hime on Dec. 5 and make another prognosis at that time.

Besides leading the team in scoring, Wroten is also the top Sixer in assists (6.3) and steals (1.9). Wroten has started 14 of the Sixers' 15 games this season. He began the season as the team's lead point guard while Michael Carter-Williams rehabbed from offseason shoulder surgery and started the last four games alongside Carter-Williams in the backcourt.

Wroten's absence weakens an already inept offense, as the Sixers rank last in the NBA in both field-goal percentage (41.3 percent) and offensive efficiency (92.2 points per 100 possessions).

The Wroten-less Sixers will face the Dallas Mavericks (12-5) tonight at the Wells Fargo Center. The Mavericks gave the Sixers a 53-point shellacking when they last met, Nov. 13 in Dallas, the franchise's worst loss since a 56-point defeat to the Seattle SuperSonics on March 6, 1993.

On a brighter note, 2014 second-rounder Jerami Grant was a full participant in practice Friday after being out since the beginning of training camp in October with a right ankle injury and is likely to be available.

Grant is a 'tweener at the forward spot, not unlike former Sixer Thaddeus Young. The 6-8 Grant averaged 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds while shooting 49.6 percent from the field during his sophomore year at Syracuse.
