Greg Foster's assistant-coaching stint with the 76ers was short-lived.

The 45-year-old left the franchise after one season for a better opportunity as the second assistant coach with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to several sources. Foster was one of the Sixers' player development coaches. The former NBA center also worked with the team's big men.

Foster and new Bucks coach Jason Kidd are close friends from Oakland.

Foster came to the Sixers in September after spending the previous three seasons at his alma mater, the University of Texas at El Paso.

He played with nine teams in his 13-year NBA career, and is mostly known for playing with the Jazz from 1994 to 1999. He won an NBA championship with the Lakers in 2001.

Foster played briefly for the Bucks during the 1993-94 season.
