Sleeves not LeBron's style

LeBron James said he's not making excuses, but numbers don't lie: He is 0-for-three games on three-point shots when wearing the NBA's new short-sleeved jerseys.

"I'm not a big fan of the jerseys," James said after going 0 for 3 in Miami's 111-87 loss to San Antonio on Thursday.

"Every time I shoot, it feels like it's just pulling right up underneath my arm," he said. "It's definitely not a good thing."

On Christmas Day, he shot 0 of 4 from three-point range in a win over the Lakers, and, in the All-Star Game, he was 0 for 7 on three-pointers in sleeves.

Lakers loss a record

The Lakers suffered their worst loss in franchise history Thursday, a 142-94 drubbing by the Los Angeles Clippers. The 48-point loss eclipsed the 36-point defeat the Lakers suffered at the hands of the Clippers on Jan. 10.

On Friday, the Lakers tried to overcome an 18-point, fourth-quarter deficit but fell to the Denver Nuggets, 134-126.

Jackson to Knicks?

New York president and general manager Steve Mills met with Phil Jackson two weeks ago to discuss coaching the team next season, according to ESPN.

Jackson, 68, said he was not interested, ESPN reported, but he has said recently that he might be interested in a front-office job.

Jackson helped the Knicks win a title as a player. He has won 11 as coach of the Bulls and Lakers.
