Nets top Hawks in London
Johnson had 15 points in the first quarter, including 11 straight for the Nets (16-22) late in the period.
Mike Scott and Shelvin Mack, both coming off the bench, led the Hawks with 17 points each.
The Nets were playing a regular-season game at the O2 Arena in London for the third time. They played two against the Toronto Raptors in 2011, winning both.
The league fined Phoenix Suns rookie center Alex Len $15,000 for a Flagrant Foul 2 during Wednesday's game, teammate Marcus Morris was fined $25,000, and the Lakers' Nick Young was suspended for one game.
During the second quarter, a hard foul from Len sent Young to the deck.
Young took umbrage with the foul, which saw Len basically smack him in the face, and got up pushing and throwing punches.
Young will be forced to miss one game without pay, and it will occur Friday, when the Lakers face the Celtics in Boston.
In another incident from Wednesday's games, the league fined Orlando guard Jameer Nelson $15,000 for making an obscene gesture.
