Heat beat winless Wizards
LeBron James scored 25 points, and the Miami Heat beat the winless Washington Wizards, 103-93, on Sunday night in Miami to snap a rare two-game slide. Chris Bosh rang up 24 and Dwyane Wade scored 20 for Miami. Miami's last three-game slide was against Boston in the 2012 Eastern Conference finals, a series the Heat won in seven games.
Celts still looking for a W
Andre Drummond and Josh Smith scored 15 points each, and the Detroit Pistons kept the visiting Boston Celtics and first-year coach Brad Stevens winless with an 87-77 victory. Rookie Kelly Olynyk scored 15 points for the 0-3 Celtics.
Kidd performs no magic
In Jason Kidd's coaching debut, Nikola Vucevic had 19 points and 12 rebounds as the Magic routed the Brooklyn Nets, 107-86, in Orlando. Magic rookie Victor Oladipo scored 19 points, 14 in the second half.
Westbrook back big
Kevin Durant had 33 points and 10 rebounds, Russell Westbrook scored 21 points in his return from a knee injury, and the Thunder overcame a ragged performance to beat the Phoenix Suns, 103-96, in Oklahoma City.
Power of Kevins, Kyle
Kevin Love had 34 points, 15 rebounds and five assists, Kevin Martin scored 30 points and the Minnesota Timberwolves improved to 3-0 with a 109-100 victory over the Knicks in New York. . . . The Lakers edged the Hawks in Los Angeles, 105-103, despite 22 points from Atlanta sharpshooter Kyle Korver.
