Michael Jordan sets the bar for Gerald Henderson

"He's a captain this year. . . . To be a captain is a responsibility of leading by example," Jordan told the Charlotte Observer on Thursday.

"If your shot's not there, then rebound or play defense . . .," Jordan said. "I'm pretty sure this is the year he's going to sit in my office and ask for a raise. These are the things I need to see. I don't like to overpay for things I don't see."

Wednesday night. Dwight Howard's 33 points and 14 rebounds were not enough for the Los Angeles Lakers in a 116-106 loss at Portland.
