Easy decisions for the Eagles, sort of. For the 76ers? Well . . .

A Western Conference executive told the Daily News yesterday that the Nuggets and Sixers were involved in talks that could bring megastar forward Carmelo Anthony to Philadelphia and send Andre Iguodala to Denver.

The executive said that Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri had talked with Sixers GM Ed Stefanski about a possible move.

The good thing going for the Sixers on a possible deal? Denver is very fond of Iguodala and he could be their most coveted commodity in any trade scenario.

The drawback for the Sixers is that Anthony has listed teams that he would want to be dealt to and the Sixers are not among them; he has said Chicago and New York top that list. The other negative is that should Anthony agree to come to Philly, a contract extension must be reached, according to the source. Anthony will receive $17.149 million for this, the last season of his current contract. Iguodala will make $12.345 million this season, $13.532 million next season and $14.718 million in 2012-13. He has a player option of close to $16 million in 2013-14. In order for salaries to be matched, the Sixers would have to include other players. The Sixers would not do the deal unless Anthony agreed to an extension, the source said.

Stefanski and Leon Rose, Anthony's agent, could not be reached for comment.

Last week, reports had an Anthony deal being close, with him going to New Jersey in a complex four-team swap that also involved Utah and Charlotte. According to reports, that deal is now on hold.

Billy King, the former Sixers GM who now holds that spot with the Nets, told reporters yesterday that he found the speculation and rumors about an Anthony trade to be "comical."

"It's comical, that's what I would say," King said. "When you're in the know of any situation and you read or hear [stuff] it's comical where it all goes in different directions.

"I would say that we're exploring everything. But there's no deal. There's no deal."

The stagnant four-team deal that would send Anthony to New Jersey would apparently land the Nuggets Derrick Favors, whom the Nets took with the third pick this past draft, and possibly Utah forward Andrei Kirilenko and draft picks.

Iguodala, 26, just finished winning a gold medal for Team USA in the FIBA World Championships in Turkey earlier this month. He started every game for coach Mike Krzyzewski, who praised Iguodala for his defensive presence and fine all-around play.

Iguodala led the Sixers this past season in scoring (17.1), assists (5.8) and steals (1.72), while playing close to 39 minutes a game. The ninth overall pick by the Sixers in 2004 out of the University of Arizona, Iguodala has averaged 15.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists during his six seasons. He has started all 486 games he has played for the Sixers.

Anthony, 26, a three-time All-Star, has averaged 24.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists in his seven seasons with Denver after being chosen with the third pick in the 2003 draft. This past season, he led the Nuggets to their second-straight Northwest Division title by averaging 28.2 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists.

The Nuggets are set to open training camp tomorrow in Denver. The Sixers will hold their media day today, and begin their training camp tomorrow at Saint Joseph's.
