Miami forward LeBron James said in an interview with GQ magazine that he isn't sure Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert "ever cared" about him, but that he was open to returning some day to his hometown Cavaliers. "If there was an opportunity for me to return, and those fans welcome me back, that'd be a great story," James said.

COLLEGES: Todd McNair, former Temple running back and ex-assistant coach at Southern California, is appealing the NCAA's findings and sanctions against him in the Reggie Bush case. The French Football Federation also suspended former captain Patrice Evra (five games), Franck Ribery (three games) and Jeremy Toulalan (one game).

All 23 players on France's World Cup squad boycotted a training session in South Africa to protest Anelka's expulsion after he insulted then-coach Raymond Domenech during a 2-0 loss to Mexico.
