Temper, temper

The NBA will not penalize Chris Paul or Rajon Rondo for an incident between them after Sunday night's game in Boston.

Paul pursued Rondo on the way to the Celtics' locker room and was blocked by Boston assistant coaches after the Celtics' 97-87 victory over New Orleans. The point guards had been assessed matching technical fouls in the second quarter after they got tangled up under the basket.

Nocioni arrested

Sacramento Kings forward Andres Nocioni was arrested early yesterday on suspicion of drunk driving. He was booked into the Sacramento County jail at 3:26 a.m. and released later in the day.

Breaking a barrier

Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman was introduced as the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks' affiliate in the NBA Development League, which will tip off next November

She became the league's first female head coach.

Lieberman was 18 when she played for the U.S. Olympic team in Montreal in 1976 and became the youngest player to earn a medal when the team took silver. A decade later, she became the first woman to play in a men's professional league when she joined the Springfield Fame of the USBL.
