Artest the Laker
New acquisition Ron Artest seemed to struggle with the Lakers' triangle offense through the first four games, but he had a breakthrough of sorts Tuesday in a 101-98 overtime win in Oklahoma City.Artest had 20 points on 6-for-8 shooting and added six assists. He entered the night averaging 8.3 points per game.
"He's finding his way," coach Phil Jackson said. "The rhythm of the offense and finding his shots are still a mystery to him.
"A guy like Dennis Rodman used to [fit into the offense] quite simply, but he was just a passer."
Said Artest: "I felt comfortable all season, but when your team hasn't been together yet this year, it doesn't work as easy. It's bigger than just me."
