Carney said to be returning to Sixers
The 76ers intend to sign swingman Rodney Carney to a contract, according to various published reports.
He was the No. 16 overall pick out of the University of Memphis in the 2006 draft, taken by Chicago and traded to the 76ers.
He spent two seasons with the Sixers, appearing in 137 games, including 41 starts. He averaged 6.2 points with the Sixers.
He was sent to Minnesota with Calvin Booth and a first-round pick in July 2008 to help create cap space for the Sixers to sign Elton Brand.
He appeared in 67 games for the Timberwolves, including six starts. He averaged 7.2 points a game for Minnesota.
