T'wolves draftee Rubio on the move
Ricky Rubio will leave Spanish basketball club DKV Joventut even if the Minnesota Timberwolves cannot reach a deal to bring the first-round draft pick to the NBA.
Rubio is at odds with his team over a buyout clause that could cost the 18-year-old point guard as much as $6.6 million. The NBA's collective-bargaining rules limit the Timberwolves' contribution to $500,000.
Regardless of whether Rubio makes the trip across the Atlantic next season, he will not be playing for Joventut.
"I want to continue with the club, but after everything that's happened, I don't think they're too comfortable having me in their squad," Rubio said yesterday.
Rubio signed with Joventut at 14, becoming the youngest player ever to play in a Spanish ACB League game. Minnesota drafted him fifth overall in June.

Law enforcement officials in Nevada have no intention of opening a criminal investigation into allegations that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger raped a woman at a Lake Tahoe hotel-casino a year ago, the sheriff's department said.
Douglas County Sheriff's Deputy Teresa Duffy said the accuser would have to file a criminal complaint to trigger an investigation. The 31-year-old Nevada woman has filed a lawsuit saying the quarterback raped her in a hotel room, a claim his lawyer vehemently denies.
