After that, though . . . Is Andre Iguodala the shooting guard and Thaddeus Young the small forward? Or is Iguodala the small forward and either Lou Williams or Willie Green the shooting guard?
I can't envision a lineup without Iguodala, but I could conceivably see Young coming off the bench, at least in the early part of the season. I see Williams as being far too valuable as instant offense and a pace-changer off the bench, and I see Green playing less than he did last season . . .
As the Sixers prepare for camp, I submit that the next few weeks will focus on putting in a system and developing chemistry and a rotation rather than a pitched battle or two for starting spots.

Now in their 10th year together, Andy Reid and Joe Banner seem like a part of the furniture around here - you know, the comfortable chair whose arm you occasionally smash down upon in frustration. It is familiar and comfortable and a little bit battered. You cannot remember what the room looked like without it.
With that, consider the Detroit Lions and the Oakland Raiders. Consider the costs of the mistakes they have made. After years and years of stinkification, the Lions finally got rid of Matt Millen as their boss. Oakland is different but the same. Crazy Al Davis continues to do crazy things - this year's version leaves the Raiders with a coach, Lane Kiffen, who apparently has to check on an hourly basis if he is still on the payroll . . .
There are probably some of you sitting there saying that it isn't any great accomplishment to be better than the Lions or the Raiders, and that Reid and Banner deserve no special praise for being better than the worst. That's fine and true. But the Eagles had significant problems before Jeffrey Lurie bought the team.
The Eagles were Detroit. The Eagles were Oakland. We forget. *
