Sixers, Flyers, Phils going high-def

Comcast SportsNet announced that all Flyers and Sixers games this season and Phillies games next season on the network will be broadcast in high definition for the first time.

Comcast SportsNet currently produces all studio-based news, pregame and postgame coverage, and home and select road games in high definition.

"Our goal has always been to bring fans closer to the action and by delivering all home and road games, plus news and pre and post game programs in high definition, Comcast SportsNet once again fulfils that commitment to our viewers," Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia president Stephanie Smith said in a statement.

During the 2008-09 season, CSN will air 64 Flyers and 69 Sixers games. *

Kobe Bryant, the former Lower Merion standout and international superstar, did not disappoint the many fans wearing Lakers colors at the Wachovia Center. Bryant scored 32 points as the 76ers fell, 114-102.

Even worse for the Sixers, power forward Elton Brand suffered a strained right hamstring. He will be re-evaluated Thursday.
