Donaghy, 41, is a Havertown native who attended Cardinal O'Hara and Villanova. He pleaded guilty to accepting money for passing inside information to two former classmates, who bet on games during three seasons.

"The government's investigation revealed that Donaghy provided picks for anywhere from 30 to 40 games for each of those three seasons," Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Goldberg said in a letter filed Friday in Brooklyn Federal Court, according to the New York Daily News.

Donaghy's sentencing hearing was scheduled for May 22, but was postponed until July 14.

The New York Post reported that federal court filings indicated that prosecutors and Donaghy's attorney were disagreeing over how much money he cost the NBA by betting on games.

The Post reported that the government says Donaghy cost the NBA $304,858 by depriving them of his "honest services."

Donaghy has already paid $30,000 in restitution to the government. The $304,858 figure could be a factor in his sentence. Donaghy reportedly said he only cost the NBA $40,000 in losses.

James Battista and Thomas Martino, Donaghy's classmates at O'Hara, have pleaded guilty to charges related to their involvement in the scheme. They are scheduled to be sentenced July 11.
