Sixers Richardson remains a game-time decision

Sixers guard Jason Richardson said he was feeling better after having his left knee drained with fluid on Thursday and that he will be a game-time decision for tonight's matchup at the Wells Fargo Center against the Toronto Raptors.

"I feel good," Richardson said after this morning's shootaround. "I had knee swelling and got the drain out if it and I am feeling pretty good right now and we will see how it goes game time."

Getting his knee drained is new territory for Richardson, who turns 32 on Sunday.

"It's the first time I ever got my knee drained and it felt good after getting it all out of there, getting the swelling down and now icing, trying to calm it down," Richardson said.

He concedes that tonight's game is important since the Sixers are coming off Tuesday's clunker, a 111-99 loss to visiting New Orleans. In addition, on Jan. 9, the Sixers had their lowest scoring game in a 90-72 loss in Toronto.

"I definitely think this is a big game, knowing we didn't play so well last game and the also the last time we played Toronto, they up it on us bad," Richardson said. "This is a big game for us."

Richardson is averaging 10.6 points per game and the outside shooting that the Sixers expected hasn't been there on a consistent basis. He's shooting 40.6 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from beyond the arc.

His career averages are 44 percent and 37.2 percent respectively.
