Wayns signed to 10-day contract

Rookie guard Maalik Wayns is back with the Sixers. After being waived on Jan. 6, Wayns was signed today to a 10-day contract.
The rookie free agent from Villanova and Roman Catholic High averaged 2.5 points and 1.0 assists in 20 games for the Sixers.
A team is able to sign a player to two, 10-day contracts. If a player is signed to the second 10-day deal, the team must either keep him for the rest of the season or release him after that.

Ah, the final piece! Next up: the Larry O'Brien trophy!— Vituperator- Still don't understand why they didn't use the NBDL for what it's there for.... giving Wayns, a guy who showed promise in exhibitions but who clearly needs seasoning, the necessary PT in a setting where he can thrive. Wayns has some skill sets the Sixers need in speed and quickness, but are obviously still searching around the league to acquire a better option. They should go after Charles Jenkins or Josh Selby.— bearsfriend
- Totally agree. Good to see Maalik back on a 10-day but would rather have a commitment to him to see where he can take his game. He looked like he was trying to prove something last night in the waning minutes of the blowout loss - driving to the basket and getting to the foul line.— damageboy
